Wireless Self-Healing Networking Terminal

The SAFARI Srx-54 Wireless Networking Terminal is the first of a new class of multi-channel wireless networking components that make it economically practical to design, build and operate broad band wireless networks in the most challenging indoor or outdoor topologies.

SAFARI combines, in a single, ruggedized package, three independent broad band wireless channel modules with a powerful Linux® Real-Time based wireless router to create anywhere-to-anywhere wireless ad hoc mesh networks capable of simultaneously supporting IP-based video, VoIP and data services.

SAFARI enables designers to take full advantage of locally available licensed 3.5 and 4.9 GHz and unlicensed 900 mHz, 2.4 and 5.8 GHz channels to create wireless networks supporting aggregate throughputs rates of 100 mbps plus. To maximize network capacity, SAFARI incorporates an automatic, quick-response spectrum-discovery and reaction capability.

In addition, SAFARI supports, via serial interfaces, a wide range of narrowband radios. This provides users with a convergence path for integrating legacy, non-IP, low-speed, unlicensed and licensed radio-based systems into a single unified architecture.
